Heidi Swapp Color Fresh Meets Paige Evans Silhouette Cut by Jamie Pate | @jamiepate

Color Fresh and Silhouette Layout

There is something about being around creative people and in a creative place that fuels the spirit and inspires the mind.

And that’s just one of many things I came away with this year from the Craft and Hobby Association's trade show called Creativation.

Creativation is a three-day event held presently in Phoenix, Arizona. Yep. The desert! In the middle of January. How great is that?
It’s a gathering of all manner of crafting companies that show their latest collections to vendors, store owners, party planners, big box companies as well as smaller scrapbook type stores. I always love to be around all these innovative and creative and forward thinking people.

And I always love the chance to meet up with my creative tribe. This year saw Jen Evans, who is the Heidi Swapp Media Team Coordinator as well as Heidi’s Customer Service guru, and Kim Jeffress, also Media Team Member, attending the show and contributing to the Heidi Swapp booth.

These girls…there really aren’t words. Let’s just say I am one very lucky girl to have them in my life. They are amazing. They are creative beyond words. And they are my tribe. And me? I'm simply a lucky girl.

You know those people you don’t get to see everyday? (but you probably at least message daily). And when you get face to face you just talk and laugh and just generally have an amazing time of it? Yeah. That.

So this is what happened.

When I was back home in blizzard conditions on the Front Range, I printed some photos immediately and celebrated our moments via scrapbooking.

You know…good old fashion 12x12, pattern paper, embellishment + journaling scrapbooking. And. It. Was. So. Good!

For this layout I went to the Silhouette Store for some cut file inspiration. I mean. That’s not hard, right? Perusing that site alone will bring instant inspiration for me. Once I spotted this Cut and Fold Heart by Paige Evans I knew what this was going to look like.

I took to the Oh Yeah Pattern Paper from Heid’s new Color Fresh Paper Collection. Did I say new paper collection? Oh yes I did! This is such a pretty, bright and upbeat range of color and hue. Perfect way to kick off a new year of documenting. It’s just what the old me needed. A new start with some newly designed scrapbook goals in mind.

The cut was made and the half cut hearts were folded. Some I glued back down to the page. Other’s I left sort of up.

The new Stamp Set was super fun to bundle up on this page too. Sigh. This was good. And the memory remembering? Fantastic!

Be sure to check out that cut file from Paige...perfect for the season.
And too..that Color Fresh.
And...one more thing...enjoy your tribe!

And and hey...
look at this...

I'm now part of the Paige Evans + Silhouette Design Team. I'll be sure to let you know when I'll be posting on her page.
