How To Create a Gratitude Album

sharing gratitude with others

I call this next project an album. Then it caused me to pause and consider, what is an album, actually?

al-bum | 'albem |

noun.

1. a blank book for the insertion of photographs, stamps or pictures

Whew. OK. We are good. I can still call this an album. A Gratitude Album to be precise. A Gratitude Album to share with someone else so I can give my gratitude to them about them.

How To Create a Gratitude Album

The reason I was questioning if I could call this an album is because I only have on singular photo in this mini book. You will see that in a second.

I created this very small album for one of my daughters. As I was in the making I realized I simply want to do this for the rest of my kids and give to them for Thanksgiving. I will indeed be making more. This was a great little project to set out and do. Let me share what some of my ideas were.

Using Heidi Swapp Old School Paper Line, I was pretty quick to gather papers in that mustard and blush hue as I like to keep my projects very thematic and congruent in color. While gathering supplies I was sure to grab the Old School Definition Stickers. As with my undying love for words and phrases, I adore this sticker set to fill in the spaces and say all the right things in this gratitude album.

The cover paper is that blush and mustard hue that can be found in the 12x12 Paper Pad. The front was layered with one of the Tags plus a swatch of the speciality paper and then one of the Definition Stickers.

When the first page is opened, the front inside cover is created not too dissimilar from the cover of this mini mini album. Only instead of a tag I used one of the labels from the Sticker Book. On the facing page is a swatch of vellum with the words THANKFUL stamped out using the Old School Alpha Stamps and Pink Lemonade ScrapbookCom Stamp Ink. I only added a little circle tab to the upper right corner as I loved how simple yet lovely the Thankful looked.

Sort of like an accordion book the vellum page lifts up to reveal the one and only photo I have in this gratitude book. I have a very specific reason why I chose this photo in particular. When I write in the journaling to this daughter, she too will know why this photo.

To embellish the photo I only added in a photo corner from the Sticker Book. The LIFE IS GOOD is from that same book. I poked a small hole in it so I could thread some gold thread through the top to make it look like a tag.

Now I ask you, what project of mine does NOT have a pocket and tag inside? It's for sure a top interactive technique. Making one here I also made use of more Definition Stickers. The appreciate was perfect for the theme of his book. The (eye) Heart You tag is from the cut-away pattern paper called Urban Stories.  I will link all the supples below.

Two more pages I will share from this 'album'. Again with the cut-away pattern papers. This time I cut away that TOP FIVE tag. It is from the 6x8-inch Paper Pad. The smaller size was perfect for these smaller pages. I will be filling that in right after I get finished making this post.

Finally for this part of the album, I stamped the Love You stamp from the Icons Stamp Set. I love the simplicity of that little page. I felt it was complete with the large stamp in place plus a few layers in the lower right corner.

I made a pocket technique video and you can view that right here:

Pockets.Pockets.Pockets.

I hope this inspires you to make little mini Gratitude Albums for those people in your life who need to receive your gratitude. You will never regret sharing your love with others. And of course you get the added benefit of creative play while in the making.
