gratitude month and the half way mark

It's that time in the program where we carry out the middle of the month Memory Planner check-in.

First of all let me say, I am thankful for not only Memory Planner, but also for the fact that Heidi Swapp Shop releases the month's Stop the Blur Kit and Video subscriptions on the 15th of each month. This has created a habit for me to be on my game and to have the previous month all zipped up in my memory planner. It's taken a bit of practice and dedication, but for the most part, all of the year's planner pages are complete up and through October. I love that!

So what exactly is so great about Memory Planner and the taking the time to curate the pages of photos and journaling and fun stuff like Stop the Blur printables?

Well. As I shared in this month's video, which you can find on my YouTube Channel (https://youtube.com/@JamiePate), these pages actually hold for me the things in my day that come to the surface and that I am thankful for. As I spoke that, my mind went to work to clarify that even more.

Memory Planner is a great way to document gratitude. That's not to say that I avoid journaling anything bad or difficult or tough on my pages. That's what the hidden journaling is for, can I get an amen? But, for the most part, what is displayed on these page spreads is gratitude. Almost always.

So what to do about the tough stuff that lands on my pages? Well, I write those down too! Why? Because there is gonna be a day in which I will be grateful that I survived them. And to be sure, at this point in my life, I'm not really wanting to just to survive challenging times, I'm wanting to thrive. Writing down the hard stuff awakens my character to respond in the way that I want to be as a human. I desire to be the best person I can be. That's not to say that I always am, but I do desire that. Documenting the difficult, even if it's hidden, brings with it a sharpening to my mind as to how I want these circumstances to play out so that I can learn and grow from them.

Bet you had no idea that a Memory Planner could provide so much. Just leave it to me to take a deep dive where one might not have been previously.

This is why Memory Planner is a great way to document gratitude. Gratitude often blooms out of difficulty. But too, gratitude can be found in so many other places. It does not have to be just difficult situations. If we begin to look for it, if we start with the mindset of: how do I want my Memory Planner to read?, gratitude will be a daily habit that fuels each day and along with it bring joy to tell our story. And that in and of itself is a great way to document gratitude.

  1. Hey Jamie, as I’m starting my first memory planner and setting up pages, I’m wondering what you use for dates and months….stickers, stamps….? Thinking cost, time…what do you find is the quickest? And I haven’t even begun with pictures and embellishments!! Yikes😃. TIA. Robin

    1. Hello, Robin! Do you follow my YouTube Channel? I share an awful lot over there. For the most part I use Heidi Swapp's Stop the Blur kits monthly. You can find the details here: https://shrsl.com/3nw77 Are you familiar with that kit offering?
