Sometimes creating these pages becomes purposeful messages to my children and their hearts...

This page was created with my middle daughter and her place in time in mind. She is this typical middle child who is a peace maker and a people pleaser. But she does not always know how to advocate for herself. And so she spends herself into an emotional place forgetting she simply needs to say what she needs to say...

Thus the words of Sara Barielles came to mind...
After I created this journaling on my Sizzix eClips machine, I realized I forgot the word 'honestly'...but hey...sometimes we forget those things...so I added it with letters underneath the title 'brave', and I think it works. To me it does not change the message at all.

I sprayed card stock with blush, amethyst, tinsel, and navy Color Shine to get that color effect behind the die cut words. I truly love how this came out and will be using this technique again.

To make this page I was feeling 'navy'...and loved that pin dot from the Hello Today paper pad...some old school Heidi Swapp like the scallop ribbon and definition stickers as well as sentiment stickers (which are now thankfully available via the new digital kit found here) were added as clusters and to support the encouragement of this message. And sometimes one simply needs to challenge themselves to use a color they do not always connect to...which is the amethyst...but don't ya just love it against the navy and blush?

This layout sat several days on her computer table, hard to miss when she was working through some academic challenges. Some of our kids don't need any help communicating themselves...but then some do. Hoping this piece will encourage her heart and mind to share honestly what she needs as well as what she wants. Anyway, that is my hope.

little moments with chic tags

Early in the week I shared a layout I had done for Chic Tags and mentioned that it was part of this year's Project Life album. That I was adding a lot more 'traditional scrap' pages to that album.

Well, I will update you on how that is going in another post, but for today, here is Week 11. Just a moment in time in our week. A chance moment out doors one late afternoon. Everyone sort of doing their own thing. Yet we are all together too. It was simply a feeling I wanted to capture, and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

It's a true story when I say that I am really enjoying the Cloud9 Collection by Chic Tag. The hues are bright and very summer. The embellishments like the wood veneers are some of my new favorites. I love having plenty of selection to tell my little story with.
I created a flap here to hide some additional photos and a bit of journaling.

I have to give props to Carol Monson for inspiring this layout. She shared this grid format page recently, and being the lover of grids, I had to lift it. So I did.

Love the transparencies Veronica included in this collection. One can just never simply have enough see through elements.

So what about you...are you capturing enough of those little everyday moments? The little things that may mean a big thing later in life...especially if you have littles hanging around your home? Well, I hope you are taking those photos and documenting with words what that moment in time meant to you. As I continue to say, Life is nothing without memories. Hope you are creating some today.
