let's make a mini album together
We keep finding ourselves on a bit of a mini album spree here. But this one is a good one and I do not want you to miss.
Because mini albums, while indeed mini, are packed full of heart. No matter what the smallish book holds: weekend getaway, a love story, an everyday story, or coffee, these little memory holders can contain big stories.
And just what is a mini album anyway? We in the paper craft memory keeping hobby throw that term around quite I bit, it would seem. A mini album is a handmade book. DIY. It's usually no bigger than 5x7 with all kinds of sizes smaller than that. It is paper creativity documenting our moments. Scrapbook meets journal. Only smaller. The great thing about these 'mini albums' is that they usually hold a singular story. Or a theme of story.
Why do we love this size of story telling anyway?
- super quick to make
- does not require an entire collection as scraps so easily will do
- fantastic gift idea
- no rules. no rules. no rules crafting mini albums
- great way to keep the story focused and intentional
As mentioned earlier, mini albums are great captures of specific memories. This one shown here is one I crafted last summer exploiting the fabulous 49 and Market collection called Summer Porch. The photos are from a weekend get away with my kids and husband that we enjoyed the summer of 2020. (You remember, when we all were getting pretty creative with our vacationing?) It's actually one of my most favorite ways to mini album. Yes, I did in fact just make that a verb. Weekend trips. Single day events. It for sure keeps the mini mini and a fav way to go back and enjoy the memory again and again.

One could not begin to tell you how many mini albums she has crafted through her years of mini album crafting. LOTs! I tell ya. So many minis adorn baskets and boxes and shelves and tabletops.
No two are alike.
Some are illustriously layered.
Some are a photo adorned with a simple word sticker.
Some are full of journaling.
Some bullet point the points.
Doesn't matter. Remember the no rules part?
