I hear the question sometimes:

'So now that you have made a collection of paper assemblage and collage, do you just let them collect dust? What do you do with them now?'

Well, there is always the idea of making just for the sake of making. But here's another answer to the question:

Give them away.

Another creative soul said to me recently that one of the best ways they utilize their art is by giving it away.

I LOVE THAT!

Yes!

If you love to dabble in the making but maybe prefer to keep the ideas fluid, then give them away.

Make the art a card.

Make the art a gift.

Make the art a tag.

Make the art an insert with a package.

You get the idea.

This week we are making Mixed Media Foundations.

And on those foundations we are finding yet another recipe of paper assemblage for your making pleasure. Or simply to give away.

Can I just say here I have oft been the recipient of the art you have made by way of cards and tags and layered foundations? It touches me deeply that someone would make something and then go to the trouble of sending in the post to me. And as I have said before, what a gift we creatives have to love to make and then to give with love what we have made.

So here's the idea and a recipe card you can download:

Watch this included video to find a way to add mixed media to your foundation piece (the first ingredient on our recipe card). Then follow the recipe (I demonstrate that in the video too) for how to build the assemblage elements.
