The Paper.
Wildside. Animal prints. Neutral tones. Lots of pattern. Solids included.
Given to diva vibe or even that whole safari vintage theme. Classic explore aesthetic. Traditional. Naturalist field study style.
What's not to love?
The Question.
What if we don't use the pattern straight out off the paper pad? It's not as if one (I) uses the supplies as they are intended in the first place. Seriously, tho.
The Technique.
The creative challenge was to use multiple of these patterns on a single project. So then, how to alter the papers so the patterns do not overwhelm but rather compliment? One did not have to reach too far in her toolbox to find a simple and easy solution: just add paint.
In this week's video that's just what I did. Reached for the paint. Did it get a little messy? Yes. But there is a way to hone that in too.
The Make.
MemoryDex. I'm in a fresh new MemoryDex era. Do you create like that too? Do you stay inside a category or making until you're not? OK...I digress.
Using the prepped Wildside papers plus a plethora of die cuts cut from the solids and patterns as well I took to crafting a MemoryDex card (or two) in this week's technique video.
The Takeaway.
One technique can help to tone down papers and really drive the ideas from not just one project but into multiple.
