i'm celebrating the holidays of the summer
Can you feel it?
It's almost summer...so almost summer.
And I love me some summer.
Summer for me sort of kicks of with Memorial Day.

And then there is the D-Day Anniversary.
Flag Day.
And then of course July 4th.
Being an American these holidays just so happen to be my vibe.
And so these days are part of what make up summer for me.
That and endless days on the beach and Vin Scully announcing baseball on the radio.
But now I have really dated myself.
And honestly it's true.
I love to create vignettes that celebrate the holidays. The season.
No less so with these holidays of summer.
And honestly it's true...
I really enjoy setting up the Heidi Swapp Letterboard.
And creating a welcoming and festive scene.
This time I included a 12x12 layout. I just wanted to bring my storytelling side of things into the holiday decorative mix.
I wanted to celebrate Flag Day with...well..flags.
I have many flag photos in my library catalog.
It was about time I made a page with one of them.
The page is super simple.
The photo was printed to 7x7-inches square.
It was then matted onto Emerson Lane pattern paper from that collection's paper pad.
And then I brought the Minc in along with Minc Papers to create an embellishment cluster.
Stars were cut from the Minc Paper and then foiled using both Red and Silver Squares Foil.
A smaller star was painted with Minc Reactive Spray. Once dry I foiled it with Red Foil.
Then some layers were created with pattern paper tags and that sticker from Emerson Lane Cardstock stickers.
This was a great combination of home decor + scrapbook page layout DIY.
I enjoy cultivating home decor that is unique and not ready made.
I enjoy paper crafting all the things.
And I enjoy celebrating all the holidays just like this.
