mother's day mini

5.07.2011

a few photos today of mother-in-law mini album as done over at jessica sprague in mouse paper scissors. i loved this class for the hybird aspect of the project. i know i will use this concept again in the future in other ways.

this year i felt very compelled to make my mother-in-law a project that was just from me.to her. it is filled with hidden tags here and there with words i wanted her to know came from my heart. she is an amazing lady in so many ways. i wanted her to know and i pray this book relays that to her.

no gift is complete these days without a few photos from the little mr. this is my favorite page of the entire book. i love the colors. i love the butterflies. i love the little flags and tag peeking out from between the pages with their own little sentiments to share.

the other side of the tags peeking out from in between. i added the "love" stamp and a few elements coming from behind our wallet size photos.

confession: i made a big boo boo on the beautiful framed part of the patterned paper. so i had to fix it. i added the mini tag as a fix with a sentiment done in traveling typewrite and chopin font. all the edges in the book are done with distress ink in walnut stain. from in between these pages you can see a mini file folder that is tucked into a pocket. another place to add words, thoughts and sentiments. another favorite of mine.

another one of my favorites. in my mind as i was working on this page was to communicate what a heritage my mother in law has in her beautiful grandchildren.

this page has an interactive aspect to it. the words in the window can change by moving the circular tab on the side.

final thoughts.

and a card to make the gift complete. a class member generously made available some extra pieces to add to the book. i used some here, as well as some of the tabs to stick out of the side.

happy mother's day!
