october memory planner ~ heidi swapp
11.12.2014
Hey everyone...
Yes...I am still here...
still loving. loving. loving the Heidi Swapp Memory Planner. Did I say I loved it?
Here are my completed pages for October. This was just the best and most celebratory month in it feels like evah!
So much happened to our family this month and all in all it was just a fabulous time.
The weather here in the Rockies for October was indeed the very most beautiful in the 11 years we have lived here. Everyone agreed. I think it truly added to the festiveness that was the month of October.
If you would be interested in the other months you can click HERE to view the rest.
This month my numbered list was composed of quippy sayings that inspired me during the day. I read some place. Or someone sent to me. It was a great space to keep those little thoughts.
In the pocket page I shared photos from our family photo shoot. A family hike. And my daughters birthday. I used the Heidi Swapp Project Life Interactive Card to point to her photo and add sentiments about her.
I also had extra photos from our pumpkin patching day and added them by way of a mini accordion album slipped into the last 3x4 pocket. I love adding these extra interactive elements of photos that I simply want to keep for easy view. Ya like the ink on my fingers there?
The back of the pockets includes one of my daughter's and her academic progress. We are on a journey to discover some unique things about how God created her brain in particular. The Memory Planner has served to be a great spot to add those little monthly updates. Also notice the Heidi Swapp October Freebie, and a landscape photo of the area in all it's autumnal glory.
I used this technique found here to add in a Heidi Swapp Project Life Gold Foil Kit journaling card. This was where I shared the big event of the month: my son's performance in our community theater's production of Little Women.
On the back side I added a few posed as well as candid shots from after the show.
And that's the story of the October edition of the 2014 Memory Planner.
Be sure and catch Heidi today on My Craft Channel as she shares another twist to an interactive card. Simply amazing.
Enjoy...

august memory planner
8.30.2014
Welcome to the end of August...
did I just say that out loud???
Big sigh...because I had such a great time with my Memory Planner this past month.
For me a theme is always the way to go for the numbered list on the first page. And I just went with the quotes that Heidi designed on the page...Fill Your Days With Laughter...
so my list is #onelittlethingeveryday that would make me laugh.
O.K...ignore the day that is missing...because let's be honest...some days are just relentless-no- laughing-matter kind of days.
Interactive pieces added to the pages add a lot of interest. Some of my notes I prefer not to have out there for all to see so easily. So I sort of cover them up. But I will tell you, under the 'smiles are free' free printable from Heidi I share my heart as to why laughter needed to be a theme for the month. Shared why things had seemed so hard. Who knew this little planner would also serve as a cathartic to emotions that needed to be worked out. Oh how I have loved this planner this year.
The top edge is attached and my thoughts hidden underneath. Love.
The page protector side is all kinds of fun for me. Celebrated that baby boy's 4th birthday this month. Oh how I love summer birthdays. We had so much fun. Lots of laughter and celebrating and being together. You can catch a peek with the QR if you are interested. It's my heart.
Left one pocket open so our group pic could be seen from the other page. Framed that baby up with a Hello Today frame. Added another free printable to a pocket. The die cut heart paper is from the JoAnn collection. And I loved the calligraphy of Anchor and Ink pinning the words of Micah 6:8 from the She Reads Truth Bible study earlier in the month. That was a must have.
Here is the second section.
The upper left photo of my youngest daughter starting a new school. Will show in a bit how I made that a mini accordion and added additional photos.
A business card for the local ambassador of Noonday Collection. And another free printable with some important events listed for the month rounds out the backside of the pocket pages.
I loved these photos with her and all that this new beginning for her entailed.
Added a few extra pages to the binding. So thrilled by that group photo of family and friends that celebrated the life of Sawyer with us.
How great is this space to simply add this and that. All the little things that make up my life. All 8 months of this year in one place. All the one little things everyday. I am so thankful for this process.
So here is to a new month. A new season. And continuing to capture the blur every. single. day.
Now go. and create.

july memory planner
7.31.2014
seriously...
where has the summer gone???
as i am reflecting back over this month...i am like...i knew it would happen...but july is gone!
and all i have left of it is this little o' memory planner...
this month kept us busy and on the move and exploring and doing with family and friends.
i will be adding to the july pockets the next few days as there is so much more i want to share.
it all started with that little birthday we call here in the states the 4th of July. the intent was for these pages to really reflect that by way of stars and stripes and stars and blue and stars. did you see the stars?
the negative created from die cutting stars out of the Hello Today paper was a fun addition to a pocket page. some thickers were added for emphasis.
i also used a 3x4 card from the Hello Today paper pad as an additional space for journaling.
oh and look...another family photo...7 for 7... yes! these are rare, people, i'm tellin' you. they say you have 18 summers with your kids. well this would be our oldest son's 19th summer...so we are actually only getting part time with him this year. but i take what i can.
and so that is my little story of july and the memory planner. celebrating our country's birthday. writing down one little thing every day. trying to keep track. slowing the blur a bit. thats what its all about. now off to august...and all it has to offer us. off to august. looking forward to what that month has in store as i find my one little thing every day.
hope you too are writing down your one little thing every day too. enjoy the journey.

june memory planner
6.10.2014
This post is part of my memory planner album posts and you can find the previous months here.
ah...welcome to june and a new edition to this album. an album that simply becomes more meaningful to me as the year continues. capturing #onelittlethingeveryday is so needful for me right now. and this month is sure to be as full as the past.
Heidi Swapp has made free printables available for this month just as she has done in the previous.
And I totally love that 'bucket list' 3x4 card.
I needed a place to hold all that I wanted to do for the summer. A place that I could continue to add to as thoughts and ideas came to me. And so this became a flappable insert to the left side of my planner to hold just such a list. My numbered list this month will be what I call #30daysofsummerfavs. Just a list of the things we do daily that add to our summer experience.
On the right side I have left the top open and see through for now. I like the 'summer' die cut to show through and make a big impact as the season changes this month.
The pockets also provide a fun place to add some Dreamy Ephemera and attach it right to the page.
If you follow this series at all, you know I have put out the challenge to capture my family at least once a month. This may seem like an obvious capture to some, but for this family I have found that it did not happen as much as I would have liked. So, now we are 6 for 6. I layered our family photo under some vellum just as a way to add more photos.
Turn the page and there are already photos added to this month as well as the opportunity to see some of the other page still. June started off immediately with a big extended family event...a 50th anniversary...and there are lots of photos and stories to tell from that weekend.
Here I share just a few of my favorite.
The calendar portion with very important dates like birthday, father's day, and of course the most important...the first day of summer.
Labels, stamps, and some stenciling rounds out this page...but the entries and photos will continue as the month progresses. This album continues to inspire being mindful of the blur. Looking for those moments and little things in a day or week. Writing down #onelittlethingeveryday that only adds to this busy life is a most beautiful way to spend this summer season, and many more.
may memory planner
5.14.2014
It sort of surprises me, but makes me very happy at the same time, how I have kept up with the Memory Planner this year.
Another idea is to make the pages thematic. Since May is the month of mothers these pages are themed around just that. My list this month is of my joys. Just little gifts I discover throughout my day. So far it has been things like my daughters museum exhibit at school. My toddler singing his heart out. Giggles heard throughout the house. Us all being in one room at the same time (such a rare thing). All these little joys add up to my larger joy of being these kids' mom and being reminded in the really tough times.
As I have shared here already, one of my year's goal is to add a family photo every month to my planner. And while I am still on track making sure to have taken those photos every month, I decided to add one with me and just my girls this time. I don't know...it just seemed fitting.
Add photos of your kids right now. Not posed. Not planned. Just snap photos of them in their moment. I collaged all mine in photoshop elements and made them to fit a 3x4 space.
The blur in my life is more blurry than ever. I am everyday so thankful for this planner. To write down daily happenings, big and small. A place to add #onelittlethingeveryday. It just sort of makes me giddy.

This is how I am celebrating May by way of the Memory Planner. So, how are you celebrating with your planner?
