memory dex & inspirational living
Inspired living with the Heidi Swapp Memory Dex.
Something that was not expected was how the Heidi Swapp Memory Dex can read similar to a Facebook memory. Keeping the Spinner accessible with photos on display from years past is a fun way to relive a memory. Who knew? I simply adore having these photo memories pop up on my spinner from time to time and take me back.
But another way to use the Memory Dex Spinner and cards is for inspirational living. Are you like me? Do you hear or read a quote and jot it down on the nearest scrap piece of paper only to find it weeks later? Raising my hand sheepishly...because I do this way too often.
My collection of quotes is fast needing a home. And I know the Memory Dex would be a great place to store these worded observations. So it's time I made it happen.
The Memory Dex collection includes a card kit called Everyday. The tabbed cards are some of my favorites of Heidi's designs. The kit includes 12 styled-tabbed cards and over 90 lined journal cards. That should be plenty of cards for plenty of quotes.
My approach is very straightforward on this. My goal for this portion of the Memory Dex spinner is mostly just the quote cards. As time permits I will add creative touches here and there. But for now this is about function and form will have to follow.
And besides...I am simply adding to an already existing and decorated spinner...not starting one all over...it's a continued work in progress.
The WeRMemoryKeepers Typecast Typewriter is helping me make these cards up. Love the look of the vintage type on the memory cards. I don't know...gives them even more distinction. Plus it's just easy to run the Memory Dex card through the typewriter and add the text. And can I say it's sort of therapeutic too? Don't judge me...it's the little things.
As I put this collection of quotes together in one place (again, a work in progress) I am finding that sometimes I will index by author, and sometimes theme. Just depends on how I remember that particular quote or if I have a good range of one author or not.
Some of my favorites to quote right now include Todd Komarnicki, Jim Rohn, and Eric Metaxas. Just a few of my preferences. Always subject to change. But then again, how this Spinner serves me is because these quotes spoke to me enough for me to write them down, and now they have a home. This is perfect for me and easy to access too.
Ok...I have a lot more of these cards to create...so off to make that happen.
Here's to some inspired living. Making visual the important words, quotes and thoughts that give motivation to life today...as well as tomorrow.
