As I shared in that article, my go-to way to document the story is by hand writing the details.
I think, unless you are Heidi Swapp, none of us really love our handwriting. I have always been told you just need to practice and one's penmanship can improve. Well, whether you embrace that bit of advice or not, I do think putting our personal touch on a page by way of our own hand written words can be a wonderfully beautiful and personal way to tell our story.
But here's the deal...
whether we love our hand writing or not, I'm going to say it again...WRITE IT DOWN. Find a way to write down those oh so important stories.

ReplyDeleteHi Jamie. I didn’t realize how important telling the story really was. When I scrapbooked, I would often forget the date or the year or not give enough details. So during the many lockdowns of the pandemic I took storytelling courses online. From different people, different ways and I can honestly say that I look forward to writing stories now, not that I’m great at it, but I know what I want to say and what is important to ME, and that really helps. The ‘who what when where why’ is kind of obvious, But I feel there’s way more to it than that. And that’s my story and why I am the ringleader of my stories. Your STB has helped me discover how important it is to write down that every day stuff that happens and print out the little photographs and other ephemera. But to me, the stories are so important.
