MemoryDex meets Color Fresh Paper Line

Welcome back, MemoryDex!
MemoryDex is still all the rage.
There are so many of you creatives out there cranking out all the love for MemoryDex and posting your creations. It’s been super fun to be a part of. You all are so motivating!!!

The groups and creatives out there soaking up this paper craft phenom are going so strong.
It’s an awesome thing to see so many get their create on.

This post is for HeidiSwapp.com. This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of jamiepate.com I do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Who out there has all the MemoryDex dies?
Who has the punch?
Today I am going to share a couple more cards touting all the MemoryDex things.
The dies.
The punch.
The vibe.

This first card, well, it’s to me a classic MemoryDex card. Not only are these cards a paper crafting trend right now, but so are rolled flowers. Rolled flowers are found on cards, home decor (check this beauty out), scrap pages…and…MemoryDex!

Taking a couple of rolled flower cut files, several flowers were cut out on my Silhouette machine.

Once rolled and hot glued in place, they were styled on Color Fresh pattern paper that had been die cut with the Tab Die.
You can find those flower cut files here, here, oh…and here.

This next card is becoming a technique that is showing up more often in my Memory Dex curated card collection (say that five times fast!).
The Color Fresh Paper Line includes a 12x12 Die Cut Cheetah paper. By trimming out a 3x4-inch piece on the edge I was then able to use the MemDex Punch. This enabled the card to be able to sit in the Spinner.

Here’s the technique, though: Using Clear Acetate I also punched the same size card. The acetate is a great see through backer. But it also gives the card more structure and ability to sit in the Spinner and not fall out. Because we don’t need nothin’ to be fallin’ out.

Oh…and of course that cutey little cute Mini Envelope Punch gave the card it’s embellished focal point. Hmmm…I love these so much.

Next!!! The last card in this mini card series (I like to make either 3 or 5’s of a series of anything).

That cheetah print from Color Fresh though. Am I wrong?
This card is super simple. And also uses the Memory Dex Punch to do the work.
For this third card I punched two different circles from the pattern paper.
Then I just layered some notched flags banners onto the center. The gold puffy Stickers holds a great assortment of hearts and they found their way on this card too.

Ta dah!!!
One collection.
Three cards.
Glorious Memory Dex.

  8. Jamie, seeing your emails in my inbox each week has inspired me get back in my craft studio and start making pretty stuff. My parents passed away a few years ago and I just kinda lost any sort of motivation to create. I was so excited to hear American Crafts was bringing the Memorydex back!! I only had the Memorydex spinner at the time and no way to find anything else. Thanks for all of your inspiration! It's exactly what this girl needed!

    1. What a beautiful thing to say. So sorry to hear your parents are gone. I have observed friends loose children and siblings and parents and even husbands and it is just so hard for them to get back into that creative place. They don't want to document life without them in their life. So you are not alone. But I also know how wonderful it is to craft with your hands, to have that quiet time of creativity, and something to show for it at the end. Thank you so much for sharing your heart. You humble me.

  20. I love making MemoryDex cards and yours are amazing, love them all, especially the one with the acetate backing! Great idea! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a set of dies and the punch (the green dies, so first edition I guess) about 1.5 years ago and a lot of my Canadian friends are so excited Heidi came out with more! Especially the punch, a great asset! Thanks for sharing these lovely cards!

    1. I know!!! What a quirky little craft approach, yet it is loved by so many for so many reasons. I think for one it's the simplicity of being able to create without this huge 12x12 commitment. I am so glad there is so much love out there for MemDex. And happy you get to be inspired with your friends too. Bonus!

    1. Thank you. Those paper flower make anything look fabulous. You know. I am thinking the white will not come back. BUT...the spinner dials on the Spinner come off, and you can spray paint the MemoryDex Spinner. Don't know if you know that or not. Like my friend, Kim here did: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwcu32FjQNC/
