all heart for that kitsch flamingo

Have you seen or even bought the new Distress color Kitsch Flamingo?

I grabbed a few of the new products that are part of the new Kitsch Flamingo Distress Collection.

Now. If you know me and color, I am sort of afraid of it. Right!?!? I know!!!

But. One needs to be brave and be willing to play creatively.

That’s what I did here. Just played a bit with some color and paper to see what would come of it.

Of all the Ranger Distress products, the Distress Oxide Ink Pad continues to be my favorite medium to use. I did grab the Oxide Spray, the Distress Spray, the Distress Paint, and, new to me, the Distress Embossing Glaze. More on that in another post.

For this creative play I took Vanilla Cardstock by Bazzill…my current new favorite cardstock to use. Then I added in a layer of stenciled dots. Was not sure how the Kitsch would play with the Vanilla. But I think I just might be a fan.

It's definitely a contrast in hues. I like it, though. When I added in the stencil, took away the stencil, then said...ooohhhh...that was my sign. This was  a great look. I had at first played with the color on white cardstock. For me it was too much contrast. But that's just me. I prefer softer hues. This really comes in clutch for a good solid pink from the Distress line. I'm seeing this a signature color for spring and especially Easter.

Two of the ScrapbookCom A2 Paper Pads came to play too. I used a shade of the Warms as the mat paper to the Kitsch creative play. I also used a scrap from the Florals for the little notched tag that is holding the vellum bouquet of Hidden Leaves die cuts. The heart, from the Cards For Kindness Stamp set, is one of my favorite icons from the set. It is sitting inside the Pink Lemonade Studio Calico label. All the layers of white and pink and the Warms and Florals are simply stunning with the Kitsch Flamingo.

I would not have discovered some of these combinations unless I took time for creative play.

I have some ideas for the Distress Paint plus the Distress Spray Ink. I'll be back soon to post those here. I hope this has inspired you to not only pick up a couple of the new Kitsch Flamingo Distress Inks, but to also make time for creative play. You never really know what can be made by you until you explore and discover creatively.
