Valentines Love and the Blush Spinner by Jamie Pate

all kinds of love for the Blush MemoryDex Spinner

One of about a million reasons I love that Blush MemoryDex Spinner is the creative invitation is it always asking of me. Right now it says something like this:

You are cordially invited to make anything you wish filled with love and hearts and all things pretty and create MemoryDex Cards for that there Blush MemoryDex Spinner.

When: anytime you want

Yep. That's pretty much what it's saying to me loud and clear as it sits here in my studio. It's an invitation I graciously and happily accepted. Today's post will share just a few of the ideas I came up with.

First I grabbed a few things to have at the ready. Like that glitter paper found in the Storyline Chapters Project Pad. That glitter cardstock is a great weight of paper. The glitter helped me to start off this series of cards.

First I adhered a 3x4 cut of the glitter paper to a double sided sheet of adhesive. (Like this one HERE). I used a 1/2-inch circle die (you can use a paper punch if that's what you have) and cut several tiny circles of glitter. Then I cut acetate paper and punched it with the MemoryDex Paper Punch to create holes at the bottom edge making the clear paper a MemoryDex Card. Removing the adhesive sheet backer, I then added the glitter dots to the clear paper. I really wanted to leave it just like that. However, the striped black and white trim was telling me it was a good idea to add that to the edge, with a hand cut heart and little typed title. First card done.

The next 'card' is actually a pocket. I used the We R Memory Keepers Pocket Punch Board to create a small vellum pocket. The pocket is filled with a piece of floral Storyline Chapters pattern paper. I created a tag with a Storyline Sticker and a few notched little paper tags. Tying it all up with baker's twine plus gold thread makes a very simple card a special card. Notice the MemoryDex Hole punches are offset. That way the vellum pocket is not straight on the spinner, but over to the side a bit allowing other cards behind it to show through.

The next card is a tag. Simple and plain. Just a tag. Then I embellished the tag. I cut two hearts and stacked them with double sticky foam tape. The leaf cut was literally lying around so I just stapled it to the hearts. The black sticker is courtesy of the Old School Definition Stickers. The same with the vellum pocket pictured above, the tabs were punched off center so the tag would sit off set on the Blush Spinner.

The last tag I made in this Valentines series uses the Art Walk Stencil to create the repeat of LOVE on vellum. The ink used is Ballet Slipper and looks soft and beautiful against that vellum. Another tabbed MemoryDex Card was cut in pink (part of the solids included in the Storyline Chapters Project Pad). These cards were layered together, and then I created several tags. I like to layer tags in at least 3's to give an interesting layered feel. The flower sticker is tucked in between the tags and adds sweetly to the layers.

To coin a phrase, I really do 'love' adding to this Blush Spinner. Valentines just seemed an obvious reason to take bits and pieces and make MemoryDex Cards. These would be great for a swap with your MemoryDex friends. Or to just keep for yourself. That's OK too. No matter what you do, I hope this has inspired you to make and create for your Blush MemoryDex Spinner.
