be sure to count your blessings

A couple things to note here about this page layout...

First, this page has been added to my Storyline Chapters Insert. I shared before in these previous posts HERE that this year I am only adding in about 3 months at a time of my Weekly Page spreads to an Insert. Now I am realizing that leaves me plenty of room to add additional stories outside the weekly format. I am loving this for stories from my son's wedding I have to tell.

Second, as soon as I received the ScrapbookCom Numbers Die Set, I knew one of the first things I wanted to do was use them as embellishment to a Count Your Blessing sort of layout theme.

Now, I have to admit, this is actually a very simple layout. Took me not much time at all to complete it once everything was gathered. And there is a weird part of me that sort of feels guilty about that. And then there is another part of me that is like..OK...now make another one!
Let's go with that. Let's simplify our process so we can enjoy the making AND telling more stories.

I have a REEL on my Instagram showing in quick bits how this page came together.

When I cut the numbers out using my new favorite Bazzill Vanilla Textured Cardstock, I then added 1/8-inch strips of foam tape adhesive to the backs of each letter so that they would pop up on the page. The numbers are tucked around that floral die cut from Simple Stories. The labels are from my stash, because I always have labels at the ready as they are elements I love to layer with. The Count Your Blessings is a stamp from ScrapbookCom's WordFetti Stamps. I used Victorian Velvet to stamp that to a swatch of cardstock then popped it up on the layers of labels.

I felt so lucky that the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Ephemera went so well with this photo. To add a few more layers I cut white cardstock using the Altenew Leaf Mix Dies. Wow, do I love that die set!!! You will be seeing that one a whole lot more. I was actually not sure what paper to cut the leaves with. But I think the white worked OK. Sometimes you just have to make a thing happen and walk away from it happy. That's what I did here.

I love to gather my supplies first. I'm not beholden to them. For example, I did not use the Grateful embellishment with the page. I decided in the end it really did not match. The WordFetti stamp was actually all this page needed to relay the title and vibe of the story.

A close up of some details. I'm a fan of all that texture. I don't actually care how full my Storyline Chapters Inserts become. I love them bursting at the seams with layered goodness. Yet another reason to only story 3 months at a time in an insert.

As always my hope is that you will be inspired to tell your story. Pick up those Number Dies as there will be so many ways they can be used. This was just one example. I am sure you will find more here as you comeback to visit. Tell me in the comments how you would use them. And hey, I'll even invite a challenge as to how you would like to see me use them in another layout.
