for some this may be lovely...and unfortunately the photo is not wonderful, bad glare. but you get the idea. this is a thrift store score at around $2.00. the frame is a shadow box with this floral arrangement popped up on it. the thought was to spray paint the frame, but as i worked on it decided that the roughed up brown stain would do nicely. there was a piece of canvas backing the flower portion, and i painted that in making memories manila (love that paint). then, i took a few of my photos from paris, worked one of rhonna farrer's digital kit, vintage tool on them. printed them out and distressed and inked the edges. i adhered the photos to the painted canvas and placed back into the frame. and i loved it...
here's a better shot of some detail.
now for our rooster frame. same thing...thought it needed to be painted...but the photos i had in mind lended themselves to a distressed wood framing them.
not sure if i love how much it looks more than i love that it was so frugal and has so many of my touches...but it is a wonderful addition to my 'paris' guest bathroom, and it makes me smile everytime i see it.have a wonderful fall day...
OMG these turned out great!!! I was just looking at an old framed mirror today that is in my garage thinking I should do something with it too. Now I need to go at it :)
