don't underestimate starter dies
If you have hung around this creative community enough, you know we love our metal dies (and rub ons...but that's another post altogether). With a handful of floral and foliage dies - all from one die set - I dove in to discover and play and create three different (file) cards into three different projects.
It does not matter if you are new to this kind of creativity or simply looking for some fresh creative ways, these ideas will inspire you to look at your dies in a brand new way.
Be sure and watch the video tutorial that compliments and shows how to make these cards. I also unbox and teach how-to use the Cherry Blossom Big Shot Switch that is exclusive to Sizzix and ScrapbookCom.
Watch that HERE.
You know we say it here fairly often: simple can be the most stunning. For this first project I cut multiple die cuts from the starter set that comes in the Cherry Blossom Big Shot Switch Box. And then layered and tucked into the same background as well as Zig Zag Frame. This was so very simple. So very basic. No ink. No rub ons. No stamping. Just paper. And a sentiment to top it off.
Watch this file card from start to finish in the VIDEO TUTORIAL HERE.
Very often I will reach into my stash and use a negative cut for a focal element in a diy embellishment. It always gets all the love from the community. So, with this next project, I talk about how to intentionally create a negative background to be canvas to the elements.
You can find this project at time stamp 9:05 in the VIDEO.
And did you catch the File Card Video Tutorial from earlier in the month? Well, that is exactly what is the vibe right here. Be sure to catch up on How To Make File Cards and Use Them Everywhere. And may your imagination be open to all the lovely projects you can make with even a single set of metal dies.
