same process...different results

The creative flow of late in the studio has been collage. Paper assemblage. Working through leftover papers and bringing previously made mixed media backgrounds into play. Then allowing elements like frames and labels to do their magic. Topping all that off with well loved botanical die cuts and then of course the story that is the sentiment or phrase.
I am calling this paper assemblage. It's not quite paper collage. And it's more than embellished clusters. It's fast becoming a favorite making session. And...it all comes with a little recipe I have crafted to guide the creativity.

Let's walk through this Love This Place paper assemblage piece::
The foundation paper is that rust piece from Been There by Arden Creative.
This assemblage has two pattern papers: one is a file die cut from the Been There Ephemera. Then a scrap of the dot on the rust which is an extra pattern of paper.
Next, you can see a die cut piece of art an journal page cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
The Element was limited to that one, singular bus ticket.
Then I tucked that oh so lovey botanical die cut that is a most magical touch to this collage.
Finally, a sentiment: love this place.
In THIS video here I share how these pieces were made. I talk through how subtle changes are part of each. And then I guide the making of all three. Yes. There may be some paper nerd moments in the midst of that video. You have been warned.
Just because there is a recipe does not mean we don't ever add a bit more spice. Or increase flavor. This little recipe/formula is simply a process we can return to again and again. Add a bit of something. Change the color. Size. Florals. The combinations are lovely to explore.
This concept is becoming such a wonderful way to stay open. For the leftovers to not be forgotten. And for those times I want to get creative but don't know what to make? Paper assemblage invites me to simply follow the recipe I have created and then dares me to stop.
