inviting a fresh perspective
I for one have found myself in the past groaning over Christmas in July. It feels like such a rush. When summer is here and the opportunity to be outdoors, to hike more, to linger around the picnic table, to just feel all the feels that is the loveliness of summer, Christmas in July just seems like a small intrusion.

Now that being said, one thing I also know is true...the holidays can also feel like such a rush. There is so much that I love to do when it comes to Christmas making. Home decorating. And gift curating. So then, why is it that I continue to fight against the idea of Christmas in July? Maybe instead I should think about inviting this time into the in-between moments, so that maybe instead of rushing through holiday projects in November and December I can enjoy the creative process at a slower pace.
Because I am also trying to invite slower into my life too.
Perhaps at this point in my life, I'm just on the fence. And you know what? That's OK. I think I'm gonna be OK with just sitting on the fence and I think I'm gonna be OK if I reach for those Christmas patterns. Or that gorgeous Christmas stamp. And maybe I'm just gonna start making simply for the joy of making.
No pressure either way.
Remembering why I love to do any of this in the first place: because I love to make. Because I love to hand make gifts. Because I love all things Christmas and want for that time to be a slow down too.
Perspective is everything. While I am posting photos here of a couple of paper collage ideas recently made for ScrapbookCom, that is what I shall be working on too: my perspective.
So if you prefer to keep Christmas six months away, I get you. That's OK. You don't have to read this post or look at the pictures. Honestly. Zero judgment here.
And if you are Team Christmas In July, I'm glad you are here. This is me looking through your lens and dipping a toe to see what it's all about.
Bottom line? Let's always and forever remember to simply make for the love of the making.
