All three parts of this little making adventure are now available on YouTube, and what a delightful project this has been.
What began as a simple folio grew into something with a little more room to explore. We added interactive elements, tucked in more places for photographs and paper layers, and finished with a hand-bound mini journal made from bookmakers' ephemera.
It's a project filled with little discoveries along the way. Each addition brings another layer, another place to tuck something meaningful, and another reason to open it up and have a look around.
Let's Take a Look Inside
We begin with the basic folio construction, then created an embellished cluster closure plus slot pockets to one of the panels. It's the foundation for everything that follows.
PART TWO | A Folio Inside a Folio
Things get a little more interesting as we build a smaller folio into the original structure. A flippy interactive addition creates more space for photographs, while an acetate window door introduces a peek-through detail.
PART THREE | A Little Hand-Bound Journal
For our final addition, we gather bookmakers ephemera and turn it into a hand-bound mini journal. An interactive embellished cluster completes the piece, bringing another dimensional detail to this collection of paper layers.
Throughout the series, we work with folio construction, embellished cluster closures, slot pockets, interactive paper elements, acetate windows, layered structures, bookmakers' ephemera, and simple hand-binding.
There are plenty of ideas here to carry into your own paper projects, too. Take a technique, adapt a detail, or use the entire folio as a starting point for something of your own.

Settle in, gather a few favorite papers and embellishments, and come make along with me.
And as always, don't be afraid to make it your own. Sometimes the loveliest discoveries happen when we take an idea and see where it leads.
