Jot Magazine came out last week with it's 11th issue. I am thrilled to be a little bitty part of that magazine. It is so gorgeous and beautifully produced.

Kim Archer, the editor of Jot Magazine, continues to amaze me all over the place.

One of the galleries was called Just My Type. An opportunity to use type and all things related to that genre. I used it as an opportunity to create a page for my oldest. You know...as they get older, it is sort of kind of harder to 'scrap' them. It's not as if their story is already told and there is nothing to share any more, it's just that they are not as cute as they use to be and so on and so forth.

My oldest just happens to love type set. Fonts. Hand lettering. And books. So the whole theme really worked for him. It made it a lot of fun to create this for him in light of his love for all things typewriter related as well as to tell this little story about how it can be impossible to capture him through the view finder.

Not only was it fun to do a layout that promoted all the things that he loves right now in his life, but it was a good exercise for me to go through my stash and pull together the things that lent themselves to  Just My Type. Wood Veneer typewriter (Studio Calico). Word/phrase stickers (7Gypsies). Letter stickers (MyMind'sEye). And of course my old stand by, book paper.

So what's the point of all this? Well, if you still have college age students living at home, don't forget to capture them and document them right now. Even if they don't cooperate.

Find ways for the page embellishments to support them and their current interests. It will bring it all back in years to come as these pages are re-visited. Trust me.

And don't forget to pull out that stash and use it up. Does us no good to hoard the good stuff.

And that is it for today...
have a fabulous rest of the week...
many blessings your way...
