Hey, friends!

It's that time of year.

December Album thinking. Making. Planning. Executing!

That's exactly what is in the midst currently. All the above.

I'm always thinking about December Album. Have been planning for a bit now. Making has actually started which actually I guess could also be called executing.

So. Like I said. All the above. What about you?

Do you December Album? Memory Plan? Do the Daily? Let me know in the comments.

In the meantime, the opening page to this year's December Album has been made and I collected the making in a video you can watch right HERE. It turned out so fun if I do say so myself.

The inspiration? Well. A Shaker. You know, as in a shaker card or tag? I kept seeing makers crafting shakers in one form or another. So that thought then grew to what now is the opening page to this year's album: a shaker page. Shakety-shake. I decided to shake things up a bit. So shake it up I did!

After that thought took root in my crafting brain then I went to work on how it was all going to look. Should it be a full page shaker? Should it be a tag on a page? Or even just a shaker window. How about a wreath framing that shaker! And wow did my crafting brain love that idea!

So then how to make it so that it could be the full essence of a shaker. The mind started to determine how to make it see through all the way through to the next page. That's when the acetate idea came into play. Making this shaker on a piece of acetate was going to be the approach.

After that decision was resolved the rest really fell into place.

Create a frame to hold in the sequins and bits.

Layer that baby up with 3mm foam adhesive tape. That was a great move right there.

Adhere the frame (I used Chipboard Frames from 49 and Market Christmas Spectacular) to the acetate by layering the acetate page to the back of it so to speak. Watch the video it makes so much more sense.

Then, this is the part of the show where I got to play paper florist because I then layered the frame up wreath style with several die cuts. This really worked out well as the layered wreath covered up the frame. The frame was square, but I formatted the die cuts in such a way that it was more of a circular wreath.

I called this layers on steroids. Just being funny that way.

The whole page was then finished off with a simple embellished cluster that just made for a finishing touch.

Is this something you would try? Have you made a layered frame like this before? How about acetate, do you use that much as a medium? It's a great clear element to have on hand for this and other paper crafting ideas.

Be sure and check out THIS video to watch from start to finish how indeed to craft this page. It was great fun. Gave much satisfaction. And truly was an easy way to craft a super pretty page.
