time flies.

going through the task of sorting through photographs and getting ready to FINALLY archive them. so...have brought all of 2006 over to the laptop, and in sorting came across this gem. i actually think alicia photo'd the keaney. nevertheless, she is just so little. so much change in 15 months time. in many ways she has made some adjustments in character and behavior. her temperment has evened out. she is better at playing with gracie and they both can go so well together for longer periods of time. she goes to bed better. not up, usually, as many times at night. but still awake and ready to go at 6...this could still change.
all said, life never stays stagnant or the same. something is always changing. i think i dwell on this subject often. we are told to number our days. for me photography and my books and journaling help to do such. i am thankful i get these opportunities.

india seth.

seth is studying india if you cannot tell by the title. one of his "adventures" he chose to do for extra credit was to prepare some indian food. he searched and chose chicken kabobs with a soy sauce marinade; golden potatoes; fried cakes (not pictured). we did not look up the traditional names for these dishes, however there were some new spices to try. it was a very good meal. i think we will even add the kabobs to our menu for a future meal. it was fun. he enjoyed the process very much and was eager to share his cuisine with neighbor family members. the fried cakes, a traditional daily food usually consumed with tea, did not turn out so much. that would be the mom's fault. but, they children told me they loved them...so i will just take the compliment and smile.

argh!

i am so undone! this new blog i stumbled upon is a showcase of some gorgeous photography...oh to be able to photo my little ones like this: audrey i know, i know....right camera, right classes, right style, right timing. all things i don't possess...so, i continue on my very amateur quest for great photos. now i am ashamed to put avery and gracie's photo out there for all to see...i'm so unworthy...

okay, i know, get over yourself. i think i am going to re-do avery's for sure as we both can do better, and her hair is much better.

enough of my photo whining....

rainy day.

8.15.2007

like living in seattle. been rainy most of the day. severe thunderstorms in some places. when we first moved here, starting early june this was the weather pattern. rainy afternoons and then usually clear off again with a warm, sunny evening. but it now does not seem to happen until august when the tropical storms start picking up down south. just interesting to me. things never really stay too much the same, life is always shifting in some way.

the children stayed in mostly today with the cloudy weather. school work got done and paul had some down time. i did some shopping both for future birthdays and christmas. cannot believe that shift is upon us again. but i am bound and determined to stay on top and organized with the gifts this season. paul wanted us to get out tonight as this is one of our last wednesdays free before awana begins in three weeks. so, we gathered them all together and took a drive.

i observe life shifting mostly in children. for almost 12 years now life has been in constant motion while little ones have been growing and maturing. i get to watch academics improve, and individual interests take shape. i see friendships and relationships blossom and move in different directions. little ones becoming more content and moving out of the constant whine stage. i feel like i am shrinking with my older ones growing inches every few months. it causes me to be in constant awe. not so much in awe at the observances, but awe that the Creator allowed me to be involved in these many lives. i am blessed.

new skirt.

8.12.2007

a new skirt. one of a couple i have recently picked up. in the mood to wear skirts for some reason. analise loves to wear her sundresses. she calls them her play dresses. avery is asking to wear skirts too...so this then leads me to a new endeavor with my oldest daughter. she wants to learn to sew. so, this is the year for that! and we will sew her some skirts. we both are looking forward to this new learning curve. i mean i know how to sew, sort of...but i am eager to get a bit better and help my creative daughter pursue another opportunity to work with her hands.

this past week was another busy one: started studies for the new year. attended homeschool network meeting and looks like the LORD has given us all direction to go ahead and continue in the direction of equipping and edifying one another. had a birthday party to go to on saturday and so it was celebrated at the zoo. worked saturday night. avery had a friend over on saturday afternoon. seth went to a friends on saturday afternoon (a child swap). just living life! and i am blessed

today.

another photoshop e experiment. i like it. it's a little out there for some...but i like the edgy about it. i should have grunged the edges a bit, and may go back and do so.
the day was smoother than yesterday. i got busy on a phone call for the homeschool network and did not get to a couple of subjects here and there. the kids were so very engaged together, i hate to take that from them at times. so we shifted some things to the afternoon. it was all good.
the home ed group is meeting this friday to sort out the next season. the lady heading up the group last spring has stepped down, and so...a vacuum was created. at first, reluctantly, i thought to be apart of heading it up. after time and prayer and thought i seem led to move forward and see how i can serve. so i am now in the midst of creating a calendar, looking for projects for the kids, deciding on topics...am networking with a great lady who doesn't know what she is doing either, so we are onto a new chapter in this career. again...it's all good. life can often take you places you have never been before, and without faith would never go.

a few experiments in photoshop e. been a bit of a taxing day, and this was a sort of winding down to get in the editor and play with some tutorials i had read.

blogless in the springs

8.03.2007

been a busy week. re-organizing the basement to ready for another academic year. building storage space in the garage. going to the water park. going to play dates. reading and studying for new lessons. buying supplies. praying. going to birthday parties. getting ready for the weekend: to work and to rest.
and today more of the same.
