the joy of new collections
In the world of paper artistry there's just nothing like a new collection and all that one discovers and unpacks with said collection. The patterns pull us in. The ephemera inspires our mind. The laser cuts define endless configurations. It's just so good!!! These new collections are not just supplies. Oh no! These are passage ways to story telling. For that is what we do. Story telling. Memory keeping. Artistic expression. All of it. This pastime to capture moments and emotions is a real thing for us. And we are here for it.
Pictured here in these images is a mini album that was inspired but the Hidden Creek collection from Arden Creative Studios. Because...Make It Mini May needed to partake in the beauty that is this fresh collection. While the parts and pieces have been out and available for a couple of months at this writing, the inspiration to create with this range just keeps calling my name.
Mini albums are such a delightful way to capture, not only artistic insight and the want to try new folds and pages and interactiveness, but they do so in a compact and useful way. This smallness of these projects make for very approachable projects for beginners as well as us seasoned makers. These little books are endless opportunities for customization. Add ins. Page flips. Pockets. All the things that we love.
As already stated in so many words, the beauty of a new collection lies in the fresh inspiration it brings to our work spaces. And with that, not only is this mini album a full tutorial on my YouTube Channel, but it is part of an entire series that I have provided on said channel. The challenge was to bring a mini album a week. The challenge was to bring a different mini album to each video. The challenge was to bring a mini album idea with a different range of papers and ephemera and making resources each time.

The love of this new collection certainly fueled this mini album. These papers just invited me to explore my creativity and get the patterns out of the package and into a book. And now this book, as I fill it up, becomes a cherished part of my making and my artistic discovery. Love how each mini album provides just that.
