the delight of a new collection
It seems to me as I have heard from you that there is a special delight that comes from the opening of a new to the craft space collection. New paper. Gorgeous patterns. Interesting die cuts. Imaginative stamps. This new collection, Laurel Grove by designer Katie Pertiet for Arden Creative Studio is no less the same delight. It's a most versatile collection full of beautiful color and beauty and teeming with creative ideas.
Not only will this unboxing shared on my channel encourage and inspire and trigger oooh and aaaah, but the versatility will have us all reaching for this collection time and again. Setting our hoarding tendencies aside, this range of paper and pattern and silhouette is a collection for right now.
With the help of new Arden Creative cardstock, plus new Branch Mix Dies, I found myself diving right in after the reveal of all the elements from this new assemblage of paper goodness. One tip I share again and again is: get to know your new selections of papered pieces. And unboxing is one way to do that, sifting through all the papers and ephemera plus the mixed media elements. But then, make something.
Start by die cutting away the new papers. An assortment of fresh botanical die cuts on the workspace can only bring with it one thing: the want to make. Watch the VIDEO as we do just that. Step by step layering and , of course, embellishing the clusters.
There are so many thoughtful and detailed pieces in this elegant collection. Sentiments. Florals. Frames. And gracious hits of vintage. It's just so beautiful.
Admittedly, in this season of a little more than too busy, this range of papers and embellishment will encourage the slow down. The building of artful layers. Taking cues from what surrounds us and bringing that visibility if not sentiment to life. I for one am here for that.
