artful spaces
It's a fresh start of small stories in thankful places that just might start with layers of paper in artful spaces. Clustered embellishments: mini collages that hold the spirit of the page. That's just what we are about this week with a new video sharing about just that. Creating embellished clusters that invite us into a page with our photos, our stories, but hopefully most of all, our gratitude tellings.
Right now these layers are inspired by the colors and textures of fall that I literally am finding most everywhere. Especially on my daily walks through trails of flowers going to seed, tall grasses turning golden, and trees giving up the newly hued leaves. Inspiration being played out on the page is literally inspired by what I am seeing all around me. Which in turn sparks the gratitudes that I am writing about right along side these layers of papery goodness.
In this week's video we are building step-by-step a page of embellished layers that will snuggle right up to a page of journaling. The intention was to add to my GRATEFUL TODAY gratitude journal in a very artful way. The papers and bits chosen were gathered because of the colors of fall that I continue to work in. I have invited a very congruent gathering of color and texture and hue so that all my projects currently have the same feel. I love to create like that. In this tutorial watch how we purposefully build up these elements which also lay a track for creating on other surfaces too.
Today. What is inspiring you today? What are you gathering this season? What is your heart seeing that you want to visualize on a page? Dig a little deeper into your own soul. Even if the story is hard. Getting creative with it can very often soften the blow that life often brings to our stories. Creativity is such a gentle and slow way to get still and to ponder by way of making. Which then I hope, as always, will render gathered gratitude written on your pages too.
