celebrating this semiquincentennial milestone

And yes...I too was here for the bicentennial. But today's party is gonna be even better than that one.

Just wanted to share a look at the decorations as you walk into my home. The food table will be right in front of this focal point as this is an old fashion American throw-down.

The invite has been the same for over 20 years now: bring chairs, food to share, and fireworks. Which is the only damper to today's annual gathering. Fireworks have been fully banned. The state is on fire and we just can't risk the chance.

So we shall eat. Dance. Play games. Chalk the sidewalks. Maybe even a corn hole tournament.

If you are local you are welcome to come.

Not too dissimilar from my Christmas decoration box, I have a July 4 tub. It's fun to open it again every year and see what has been saved from previous years.

This Inspiration Box is not July 4, per say, but it is a sentiment that I believe fits this epic birthday as well as every other day of our lives.

Letter boards. This is from my Heidi Swapp Media Team era. I have a grand stash of letter boards and use them whenever I can. If you ever come across one, grab it. It's pretty cool how often these framed letters come in handy.

I for one am thankful for what this country offers. Is she perfect? No. But neither am I or my kids or my neighbors. But we celebrate them just the same. As you perhaps do too, I have a history of those who came from other countries to escape governments that did not allow it's citizenry to pursue happiness. And for that, I say: What a country!

That's it for now. You can watch the REEL HERE. And I'll share more of our day soon. Drop me a comment below and let me know what you are up to today. Happy Day, USA!
