So inspired by this months Mood Board over at JotMagazine and hosted by Beshka! It is so beautiful and uplifting and inspiring. And so not the colors usually played with by this here layout creator. But who could resist!

For this page the tones were calmed down just a tad. But PinkPaislee's Citrus Bliss was the perfect collection as the base for crafting this page. The pops of orange and green hues really carried the feel of this story.

The touch of pink came by way of some Heidi Swapp September Skies Color Magic Die Cut pieces sprayed with Blush. Darn that Blush...it just makes anything so soft and delicate. It really is a beautiful color. Blush Color Shine also colored some of the Die Cut Color Magic paper from the new Mixed Media set found at Michaels. The lift that the die cut gives this layout is perfect.

And now for the latest obsession...did I say obsession...because that may be an understatement. The new Mixed Media collection includes this most beautiful Texture Paste, that is like a modeling paste, but on glam steroids. Did I say obsessed? Because pretty sure you can count on finding that medium on many pages going forward. It is just that beautiful.

A simple square of Citrus Bliss pattern paper was a great pop of the tangerine found in the mood board. Layered with Puffy Words from that collection as well. Some strips of pattern paper are notched and tucked underneath along with more of the Die Cut paper as well as some stash from Maggie Holmes Open Book.

What happens on one side of a page may very well be repeated on another side of a page. Just a few different embellies, but it basically mirrors what was done on the left. Yeah...layout simplicity at it's best.

Life is good and needs to be celebrated. The story for this page is included in some hidden journaling. Did not want my hand lettering to get in the way. But this was an important moment in time for this girl, and it needed to be recorded and added to her album of memories. My love for paper and color and all things pretty continues to fuel telling these stories. So thankful to Jot for providing fabulous inspiration to do just that.

To celebrate this very fun scrapbook weekend I, of course, created a layout.

As I was working through the papers from Citrus Bliss by Pink Paislee, and more especially this fab photo from my girlfriend trip to Charleston, I was thinking through the question, 'why do I scrapbook?' And it was actually a really simple answer. Because it makes me happy! That is why I do it.

It makes me happy to play with pretty paper and elements and move them around and place them in a pleasing manner. It makes me happy to have a completed page that speaks to my emotions about a time and place.

It makes me happy to look back at those pages in my albums, whether it's the next day, or weeks from today, and relive the moments and feelings on those pages. We are nothing if we don't have our memories, someone once said. I believe that to be true.

So why do you scrapbook? I don't believe there is any one answer. I believe there to be a myriad of answers to that question. And I hope at least one of those answers includes the simplicity of happiness that it may bring to your life.

stationary planner ~ pink paislee

Last week I shared this mini planner on the PinkPaislee blog. The team had a week of
Get It Done articles on the blog. Great ideas were shared how to take your Pink paper products and turn them into very useful everyday planner pieces. Loved seeing the CitrusBliss collection made up so pretty for the desk.

The tool that was most useful to me was the WeRMemory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. What a great way to whip up some perfectly sized envies and put together a stationary set and have quick notes on hand for the sending.

Even my 11-year old daughter has taken to absconding this tool and making her own envelopes. And I am thinking she is a bit more obsessed than I as I am finding envelopes all over the house.

There are lots of gift-able opportunities coming up here from Mother's Day to graduations to bridal showers. If you make one for yourself, be sure to make an extra while you are at it for a gift. And try to avoid getting too addicted to that there punch board.

Loved the challenge of taking the Atlas insta frames (from the InstaKit) and the Citrus Bliss Ephemera gold elements and creating a fun St Pats day decor for one of my table tops.

Not only that...this instagram photo that fits in this 4x4 frame can now just slip into one of my pocket pages and be apart of our family album. How lucky was that?
